Indian Township – Rhonda Rose Sabattus, 31, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 18, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. Rhonda was born in Calais on August 10, 1981. She attended Indian Township schools and Lee Academy. Rhonda enjoyed fishing, Bingo, four-wheeling, being around friends; but above all, spending time with her children. She was predeceased by her father Stephen Sabattus; and a brother George Sabattus. Surviving are her two children, Nipon and Kevin “Grizz” Sabattus; her mothers Mae Sabattus and Ada Sue Tomah; grandmother Marjorie LaCoote; her fiancé Chris Tomah; four sisters, Karen, Irene and her fiancé Stephen, Mary and her husband Richard, and Elona; 10 brothers, Walter, Alex, Nathan, Trevor, Clint, Richard, Patrick, Karl, Stephen, and Frank; her Godparents, Nancy Polches and Paul Tomah; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousins and friends Mary Sockabasin and Krystal Best; four canine companions, Buddy, Nitap, Muwin, and Qus; and two feline companions Pebbles and Espon. Visiting hours will be held beginning 12 noon Monday, May 20, 2013 at her mother’s home, 466 Peter Dana Point Rd., Indian Township, until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. James Plourde 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow in the Tribal Cemetery.
