Rhonda Lynn Singer (Wallace), 71, died Monday November 20, 2023 in the warm embrace of her daughters while in the care of the amazing providers at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
Rhonda was born on January 27, 1952, in Calais, Maine to Jacqueline B. Wallace (Campbell) and James L. Wallace.
She grew up in Baileyville and graduated from Woodland High School in 1970. In that year, she was also crowned Maine's Junior Miss.
Rhonda and her former spouse, Darryl had her cherished daughters, Jessica in 1971 and Alicia in 1974.
She married the love of her life, Gary, in 1980.
Their lives took her from Maine to Canada and Florida, but she settled back in her home state where she worked as a dispatcher at the Calais Police Department.
Rhonda loved playing piano, reading, listening to music and most of all, spending time with family.
Rhonda is pre-deceased by her husband, Gary and her parents, Jackie and Jim.
She is survived by daughters, Jessica Wilson of Saco and Alicia Wilson of Scarborough; her much loved grand-daughter, Rylee; mother-in-law, Norma Singer of ON; sisters, Stephanie Williams and husband Raymond of NB, Kimberly Potter and husband Wayne of Maine, Valerie Robinson and husband James of Alabama; sisters-in-law, Susan Boudreau of NS, Carolyn Savage and husband John of ON, and Marlene Turcotte and husband Kevin of ON; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11AM at Mays Funeral Home, located at 26 Church Street in Calais.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Southern Maine. Contributions can be sent to 390 US Route One, Scarborough, Maine 04074, or made online at www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/give.
