Trescott – Richard “Dickie” Huntley Sr., 59, died unexpectedly Friday, March 23, 2007 at Down East Community Hospital in Machias. Richard was born in Lubec, July 24, 1947, son of the late Basil and Evelyn (Harmon) Huntley. He married Karen Seeley in Lubec on February 5, 1971. For the majority of his 41 years, Richard was employed as the Highway Foreman for the Town of Lubec. He also served as a police officer for the Lubec Police Dept. for 16 years and served on the Lubec Fire Dept. for many years. Richard was a member of the Christian Temple Church and enjoyed hunting, operating heavy equipment, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of over 36 years, Karen; two sons, Richard Huntley Jr. and wife Teresa of Trescott, and Timothy Huntley and wife Mary of Lubec; a brother, Robert Huntley of Lubec; five grandchildren, Matt, Leann, Amanda, Megan, and Stephanie; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Hargrove and companion Dave Jacques of Florida, Paulette Mulholland and husband Bruce of Cathance Lake, Joan Roberge and husband William of Wells, and Sharon Prout and companion Ed Fagonde of Jonesport; a brother-in-law, Mike Seeley and wife Debbie of East Machias; a special cousin, but more like a brother, Milton Guptill; a special friend, Jack Fuller; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
