Baileyville – Richard “Frenchy” Frances Santerre, 72, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at a Calais hospital. He was born in Quebec, and raised by Emery and Vivian Santerre, whom were like a brother and sister to him. Richard served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Georgia Pacific for over 43 years and a member of their Quarter Century Club. Frenchy was a Communicant of St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Baileyville and enjoyed hunting, keeping up his journal, walking his faithful canine companion “Jack”, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of over 20 years, Marlene (Johnson) Santerre; a son, Gary and Becky Santerre of Baileyville; step children, Grace and Mike Stanhope of Bucksport, Donald and Becky Goodwin of Baring, and Wendy and John Harmon of Princeton; two grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and six step great-grandchildren; and Emery and Vivian Santerre’s children, Carol Sexton of N.C., Emery (Tex) and Mary Kay Santerre of Scarborough, Denis and Stella Santerre of Eddington, James and Iola Santerre of Kennebunk, and Pat and Philip (Pippy) Dow of Baileyville.
