Robert John Grimes

Keene Valley – Robert J. Grimes, 76, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh. Bob was born in Queens, June 16, 1929, son of the late John and Mary (Williams) Grimes. He was employed by New York Telephone for over 35 years, retiring in 1992. Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ticonderoga and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lussier. Surviving are his loving sister Dorothy Hoops of Baileyville, ME; eight nephews; and his special friends, Bea Finckel of Keene Valley and Brandon of Keene Valley Central School. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, at St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Baileyville, ME. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Adopt A Student Program, 22 Father Joques Place, Ticonderoga, NY 12883. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais, ME.
