Robert L. Bailey of Grand Lake Stream passed away the evening of December 9th, 2023 at Northern Light Hospital with his family by his side. Born to parents Earl E. and Beatrice H. (Monaghan) Bailey on January 7th, 1964.
Bobby attended school at Princeton Elementary and Woodland High School. Bobby sought employment at what was then called the Georgia Pacific Mill. He worked there approximately from 2000 to 2005. Bobby's love for driving trucks took his career on a different path. His love for heavy equipment had him working closely with our dad along with learning how to be a carpenter.
Most of all Bobby loves to “drive trucks”. He also loved to hunt and fish and tell old stories while cooking his fried chicken.
Bobby was predeceased by his father Earl Bailey; grandparents Roy and Alice Bailey of Grand Lake Stream; Hugh and Anna Monaghan of Calais; his ex-wife Joanna Redding Bailey; many very special aunts and uncles, and two close friends Brent (Guppy) Guptill and Jay MacArthur. Bobby's surviving family are his son Kyle Bailey, Kyle's fiancé Jacqueline Larochelle and their son Lincoln Richard Bailey; his mother Beatrice Bailey of Princeton; sisters Cathy Gardner and husband David Gardner of Princeton and Carrie (Bailey) Cilley of Princeton; stepmom Helen Dwelley; stepbrother Russell Dwelley and wife Wendy and stepsister Beth Dwelley; lots of nieces and nephews and cousins; and a special pet, his cat “Kitty”; all were special to him.
Bobby will be laid to rest with his father in the Grand Lake Stream Cemetery in the Spring with a small gathering for family and friends down at camp to enjoy a fire, some fried chicken and share lots of “Bobby” stories. This date will be announced at a later time.
Bobby was a cancer survivor; so in lieu of flowers, a suggested donation to the cancer society would be appreciated.
