Pleasant Point – Robert Mansfield Parker, 67, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 with his loving wife Mary and family by his side at Calais Regional Hospital. Robert was born in Calais on August 20, 1950, son of Charles and Arlene (Williams) Parker.
Upon graduating from Portland High School, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his service, he returned to Maine and started his career driving truck with Brockway Smith Co., from where he retired after 25 years of driving. Robert and his wife Mary then moved to Pleasant Point and he drove truck for Stanhope Trucking. He enjoyed cooking, playing guitar, and spending time at his camp on Dobsis Lake in Springfield.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his grandparents, Mansfield and Phoebe Williams; a brother Fred; and his sister Carole. Surviving are his wife Mary Creighton-Parker; six children, Michael Parker of Lowell, MA, Jason Parker of Alexandria, VA, Stacy Parker of Portland, Pearl McWhorter of Norfolk, VA, William Creighton Jr. and wife Joely of Bowdoin, and Jeffrey Creighton and wife Renel of Gulfport, MS; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and numerous dear friends and coworkers.
Visiting hours will begin 4 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at 55 Bayview Dr., Pleasant Point, until 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 21. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin J. Martin 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 51 Washington St., Eastport. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Point Tribal Cemetery.
