Robert Anthony Salvo

Pleasant Point and Biddeford – Robert Anthony Salvo, 32, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. Robert was born in Cambridge, MA on September 15, 1983, son of Paul Salvo and Ella (Leighton) Salvo. After graduating from Somerville High School in Somerville, MA he worked as a laborer for road construction companies until his illness. Robert loved reading the Bible, listening to 80’s music, playing basketball, and loved all kinds of animals.

Robert was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, William Leighton and Josephine Newell; maternal great-grandmother Elizabeth Lacoute; paternal grandparents Paul A. and Elizabeth Salvo; and two uncles, Arthur and Robert Newell. Surviving are his mother Ella Salvo of Biddeford; his father Paul D. Salvo of Somerville, MA; two sisters, Paula Salvo of Nashua, NH, and Tina Salvo of Somerville, MA; aunts and uncles Mary Creighton and husband Robert Parker of Pleasant Point, Anita Sacobie of Kingsclear, NB, Leroy Newell and wife Sally of Pleasant Point, Charles Newell and wife Susan of Calais, and Roland Newell and wife Susan of Pleasant Point, Rosemarie Salvo of Somerville, MA, and Joann Salvo and husband Wayne Pittman of Somerville, MA; and many cousins.

Visiting hours will be held at his aunt’s home, Mary Creighton, 55 Bayview Dr, Pleasant Point, starting 5 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 until 10 a.m. Saturday, at which time a funeral service will be held in the home. Burial will take place in the Pleasant Point Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
