Princeton – Romelda N. Wallace, 91, passed away August 17, 2016 at Calais Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Romelda was born on June 20, 1925 to Churchill and Alice (Scovil) Wallace in Baileyville.
On February 23, 1943 she married Ralph A. Wallace Jr. “Joe” in Woodland, together they raised two sons and enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his passing in 1989. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends over the years. Romelda was a member of the What-So-Ever Club in Princeton during the 60’s where she had a good friend, Clara Brown; the Princeton Woman’s Club; the Sunshine Circle of Princeton Congregational Church in which she was also a member and she was always available to make homemade desserts for the church bake sales where she had a special customer, Fred Moholland for her Moco cakes.
In addition to her parents and husband, Romelda was predeceased by her son, Ralph C. Wallace “Joey”; sister, Roslyne Spurling and four brothers, Ronald, Donald, Richard and Jimmy Wallace.
She is survived by her son, Bill Wallace of Princeton; sister, Gertrude Lunn of Calais; two grandchildren, Scott Wallace of Brewer and Jennifer Nelson and her husband Thomas; four great grandchildren, Savannah, Andrew, Tess and Brigham Nelson, all of CO and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20th at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
