Baileyville – Ronald Michael Irving, 79, passed away on August 26, 2021 in Milbridge. Ronald was born January 13, 1942, to Franklin and Mary (Slefinger) Irving in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ronnie grew up in Woodland where he attended school, and lived most of his years on Hillside Street. A communicant of St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church as a child and throughout his adulthood, he was proud to serve the Church as an altar server, sexton, and with the offertory collection.
Challenged by mental illness throughout his life, Ronnie cherished time with their family dogs, cheering on the Boston Red Sox through thick or thin, serving many neighbors by mowing lawns and shoveling snow, taking long walks around town, and most of all, enjoying the bounty of foods cooked daily by his beloved Mom who loved him unconditionally.
He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his younger brother, David F. Irving and his wife Kathy; a niece Heather James and husband Gregory residing in Hermon and daughters Taylor, Morgan, and Courtney (and their families) and a nephew, David A. Irving and wife Sarah and sons Samuel and Elliot residing in Bangor. He is also survived by many cousins and friends throughout the State and country, and will be missed by all.
A memorial Mass in Ronald’s honor will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 9th at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church, 60 Summit St., Baileyville. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
