Obituary for Roy Dwelley

Hopkins, S.C. - Roy Allan Dwelley died Monday, October 9, 2006, at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in South Carolina. He was born on September 23, 1941 in Mount Clara, N.J. to the late Dana and Jean Dwelley. Roy Allan Dwelley served two years in the United States Navy, and served 28 years in the Navel Reserves. He was employed as the Master Planner with Fort Jackson for the last 4 years, and had been an Architect for Fort Jackson for the past 17 years. Mr. Dwelley was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in S.C. and had designed the walkway and elevator at the Church. He was a member of the Lower Richland County Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his loving wife, La Dell P. Dwelley of Hopkins, S.C.; a brother Gary Dwelley of Jacksonville, FL; Special Aunt, Marion Cousins of Alexander, and Great-Aunt Evelyn Pottle of Eastport. In addition to his family Mr. Dwelley will be missed by several friends and loved ones including; his “Work Wife” Janie and her husband Bob Smith and daughters of Columbia, SC; Sharon & Leon White, Bessie & Gene Clark and Family, Sam Kopack and family, Ken Burghate, Allan & Nerida Lindsay, Carol & Jim Mix who were “Our Angeles”, Sam Filler, Estelle & Esther Barlow, Thelma Robinson, Henrietta Scott, Blondell Fraiser, Sandy Jones, Clara Koerner, Elisabeth Dyer, Betty Hayward, Ralph & Beth Zeigler, Gwen & Sheldon Cote of Millinocket; Tom Rodgers of Las Vegas, NV; Charlie & Gloria Murphy of Millinocket; Winnie Demmons, Ginny Burk of Eastport; Jean & Jim Kelley of Bangor, ME; Bob Palmer of San Diego, CA; Joe Yanarella & Helen of Beacon, NY. He is also survived by a host of extended family of 5 nephews and niece, 5 Great-Nephews and Niece, Aunt Sis and Aunt Theda, three Brother-In-Laws, and Two Sister-In-Laws.
