Calais – Ruth Eileen Beaulieu, 88, passed away on April 11, 2019 in Machias. Ruth was born November 5, 1930 at Chipman Hospital in St. Stephen, NB, Canada, daughter of Harold K. and Louise (Moffitt) Deacon.
She is survived by her son, Ray Beaulieu and his wife Jill; “adopted” son, Bob Fitzsimmons and his wife Linda; niece, Nancy (Deacon) Bolton and her husband Jeff; nephew, Dr. George Taylor and his wife Regina; great nieces and nephews; cousins; many friends, including special friends Barbara Brooks and Marvelle Pottle and her feline companion, Maggie.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Francis R. Beaulieu Sr., a brother, Harold Deacon Jr.; sister, B. Jean (Tarbell) Taylor and an infant son.
Ruth married Francis Beaulieu in Calais on March 31, 1954. Together they owned and operated Todd’s Hardware Store in Calais for 37 years. After selling the store, she worked with her husband at his business, Beaulieu’s Lock Smith. She was a member of the Calais United Methodist Church, and loved fishing and baking, especially cream puffs.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes there will be no service, she will be laid to rest at Calais Cemetery with her husband. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
