Ruth Chaffee

Calais – Ruth Chaffee, 89, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at a Calais nursing home. Ruth was born in Baileyville, October 10, 1915, daughter of the late Sandy and Olive (Brownlee) Leeman. She was a faithful and active member of the Second Baptist Church in Calais. Surviving are a sister, Grace LeMary of Calais; a niece, Joyce M. Clark of Noblesville, Ind.; a nephew, George Barnard of Calais; and several great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 19 in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville, with Pastor Chris Stevens officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to Second Baptist Church, PO Box 925, Calais, ME 04619.
