Obituary for Ruth Evelyn Clark

Eastport – Ruth Evelyn (Kilby) Clark, 65, died at home after a long illness on September 7, 2007. Ruth was born in Pembroke on May 7, 1942, daughter of the late Clinton and Ella (Rodgers) Kilby. She worked for several years at the Merrill Trust Bank and as secretary at Eastport Elementary School. Until her illness, she helped run the family business, Clark’s Plumbing and Heating. Ruth served her community in many capacities over the years. She was a member of the Friends of the Library and Eastport Memorial Nursing Home Auxiliary. She also served for many years as the Treasurer for the Peavey Memorial Library and was a member of Blakey Memorial United Methodist Church and served as the church Secretary. Ruth is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth; three children, Richard and his wife Tammy of Eastport, Kevin and his wife Susan of Glenburn and Joyce Pottle and her husband Tom of Perry; six grandchildren, Sara Ricker and husband Pete, Helen, Adam, Dorothy, Thomas and Brooke; a special great-grandson, Pete; her brothers, Philip and family of Allentown, NH, Lowell and family of Hopewell, VA, Ronald and family of Edmunds and Charles and family of Pembroke; her sister, Beverly and family of Dennysville; and her uncle, Donald of Pembroke. Ruth was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
