On Friday, September 11, 2020, Ruth Muller passed away at home peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior at 105 years old.
Ruth Muller was born on January 3, 1915 in Germany. At 9 years old, she and her family were forced to escape the tensions of World War 1 by immigrating through Ellis Island to Ridgewood, NY. Ruth grew to become an avid lover of New York City and had quite the career working on Wall Street as a Law Secretary. She retired at the age of 65, and dedicated herself as a parishioner at Glendale Methodist Church often playing the organ and piano at Sunday services. In the years to follow, Frank and Dorothy Condon cared for Ruth while she lived in East Meadow, New York until she moved to Maine 5 years ago to be cared for by William and Anna Condon. The last five years of her life, she enjoyed indulging in delicacies like lobster, prime rib, and even treated herself to a beer or a dry gin martini every now and then. She said it was good for her. She was happy reading, watching movies, and enjoying the company of her fluffy friends, Mia and Chumly. In an interview celebrating her 105th birthday, she said, “I’ve got it all!”
She is lovingly remembered by great nephews and their wives, William and Anna Condon and Frank and Dorothy Condon; great-great nieces Michelle, Heather, and Abby Condon; great-great nephews Chase and Billy Condon; and great-great-great nieces Lexi and Kenzie Condon.
A Graveside Service of Christian Burial was held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at The Evergreens Cemetery in Ridgewood, NY.
