Eastport

Sandra, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2024, at her home in Quoddy Village with her daughter Rebecca and her dearest friend Juanita by her side.

 Sandra was born the daughter of William A. Wallace & Annie L. Wallace (Miles) on April 13, 1948, in Lincoln, Maine. She was raised in Howland and graduated from Penobscot Valley High school, class of 1966.

 On December 31st, 1966, she married Pete Avery in Eastport where they resided & raised two daughters. 

 Always a caregiver, she worked many years at Eastport memorial nursing home as well as Eastport residential care facility, from which she retired in 2013. She worked at local factories in her younger years & made wreaths yearly. 

 She was pre-deceased by her parents, Bill and Annie, her husband Pete, grandson Tharryn, two brothers, Billy and Mark, & two sisters Lillian and Fonnie. Sandra is survived by her two daughters Rebecca of Eastport and Wanda of North Carolina, 3 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren also of NC, a sister-in-law Kathy Bulley of Alton, brothers-in-law Ray of Pembroke and Larry of Eastport, dearest friend Juanita Collins of Eastport, nieces, nephews and cousins including special nieces Regina Wilson and Laurie Preston of Perry, and her fur babies Deja & Jasper.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday July 5, 2024, at Restlawn Cemetery in Perry, with Father Roland Berngeh officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home.
