Scott A. Emery

Eastport – Scott Alan Emery, 72, died at his home on August 28, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Scott was born in Eastport on May 8, 1949, to Charles and Marie (Frankland) Emery.

Scott owned and operated many fishing vessels over the years, his latest, the F/V Grinch, in which he hauled lobsters and dragged scallops in the bays surrounding Eastport. Scott served his community on the Eastport City Council and as a member of the Maine Lobsterman’s Association.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Frederick Emery. Scott is survived by his wife, Pauline (Newman) Emery; a daughter, Kandi (Emery) Fortuna and her husband Kevin of CT; two stepchildren, Michael Newman of Norway Maine, and Lisa Newell and her husband Ryan of Pleasant Point Maine; sister, Julie (Emery) Magoon and her husband Frank of Carrabassett Valley Maine; four grandchildren, Taylor (Emery) Grotjan of NC, Dustin Newman, Anastasia Sienkowski and Dakota Sienkowski, all of CT; his great grandson, Joshua of CT and a very special friend, Frank Gardner of Edmunds.

In keeping with Scott’s wishes, there will not be a service. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at Cancer.org. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
