Sheila F Malloch

Eastport & Lubec – Sheila Fernald Malloch, 86, passed away at her home on July 6, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Sheila was born in Lubec on February 4, 1926, daughter of the late John Fernald and Delilah (Metcalf) Fernald Barker. After graduating from Lubec High School, Class of 1944, she worked briefly in Washington D.C. before returning to Lubec. Sheila married Harold Malloch in 1952 and moved to Eastport where they raised their family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harold Malloch; mother-in-law Marion Malloch; father-in-law Arthur Malloch; sister-in-law Jean Morrison; sister Marie Brown; brother Ernest Fernald; and her step-father Vance Barker. Sheila is survived by her three sons Gilbert Murphy and his wife Alda, Scott Malloch and his wife Ann, and Christian Malloch, all of Eastport; two sisters Lorraine Farmer and Jane Chute of Lubec; two sisters-in-law Jackie Malloch of Portland and Guelda Fernald of Lubec; three grandchildren Michael Murphy of Westbrook, Andrew Murphy of Arlington, VT, and Olivia Malloch of Orrington; and her great-grandchildren Alyssa, Hannah, Liam and Samantha. At her request there will be no funeral service. The family will hold a private committal service at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
