Princeton & Calais – Stephen Harvey Mulholland, 94, passed away on June 25, 2016 at Calais Regional Hospital. Stephen was born to Isaac “Ike” and Delphine (Tozier) Mulholland on August 31, 1921 in Baileyville.
His family resided in Princeton during his childhood where he attended school until he joined the US Army, serving his country during WWII. Stephen later married Rose Marie Hanson with whom he raised two sons and enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Together they traveled the country visiting 46 states as well as Canada and Mexico.
Stephen was a self-employed contractor specializing in carpentry and painting. He was active in Princeton, serving on the volunteer fire department and the Princeton Planning Board.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his wife, Rose Marie Mullholland; five siblings, Ethel, Wayne, Julie, John and Margret “Midge”.
He is survived by his two sons, Larry Mulholland and his wife Shelley of Land O’ Lakes, FL and Baileyville and Dean Mulholland of Princeton; sister, Mary “Honey” Powell of MA; granddaughter, Erica Waddell and her husband Hardy of Greenville, NC; grandson, Michael Mulholland of Eddington and his great grandson, Blake of Greenville, NC.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 8th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais with a reception to follow at Calais Methodist Homes, Palmer St., Calais.
