Obituary for Tari Lynn Murphy

Eastport – Tari Lynn Murphy, 66, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side. Tari was born in Eastport on January 13, 1946, daughter of Kenneth and Lorraine (Cassidy) Murphy. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Rhonda Lynn; a granddaughter Saige Ellsmore; her father Kenneth Murphy; and her grandparents, James and Doris Cassidy, Dorothy Kowalski, and Charles Hollis Murphy. Tari is survived by her mother Lorraine Murphy of Eastport; her husband Joseph Schofield; a daughter Tomi Ellsmore and her husband Alan of Calais; three grandchildren, Addison, Reese and Megan Ellsmore; three brothers, Kenneth Murphy and his wife Elaine of Eastport, Charles Murphy and his wife Sandra of The Villages, FL, and Robert Murphy and his wife Diana of Albuquerque, NM; a sister Dawn Barnes and her husband William of Eastport; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her friends but especially her best friend of many years, Linda Bonner and her husband Tom of Alexander. Tari enjoyed her work as a drug and alcohol counselor and she has helped many people with their recovery. Tari has been a devoted friend of Bill W for over 15 years and was a very big part of the Washington County Drug Court System. She was just honored with a lifetime achievement award for DSAT. Tari will be missed by many but never forgotten. A special thank you goes out to the nurses and staff at Calais Regional Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care that she received and also to friends and family that stayed and sat with her during her illness. Tari is in heaven with the angels now and is at peace. A celebration of Tari’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Blakey United Methodist Church, 74 High St., Eastport. Donations in Tari’s memory may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, 205 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
