Calais - Our Mother, Theda Ann Clark, 82, passed away Saturday, June 9th 2012.
She was born in Rollingdam N.B. On May 8th, 1930. At the age of 13 she quit school, (as many had to do back then) and started work at the Candy Factory in St. Stephen. After working there several years, she married and moved to Calais. Then she moved the family to Milltown where she spent most of her life raising four children. Mom was a member of the Calais America Legion for many years, where she worked for a few of those years behind the bar. She also worked at the Hathaway Shirt factory where she made many dear friends. She often talked about the Girls she worked with and how happy she was to have worked with them. Mom was predeceased, by one Daughter Jean Ann McPhail, a Husband James Clark and three Brothers, twins Roy and Ron, and Wesley Hall. Mom is survived by one Daughter, Donna Spearin and husband Ron of Charlotte; two sons, Tony Leavitt of Calais and Daniel Thibault and his companion Kim Sullivan; and six grandchildren, that loved their Grandmother very much. Erika Smith of Virginia, Toni Jean Leavitt and Billie Jo Leavitt of Bangor, Danielle Thibault of Portland, Eric Thibault of Sullivan, Jessica Leavitt of Calais and Casey Leavitt of Bangor. Five Great Grandchildren, Marquis Smith of Virginia, Ella Quinn of Bangor, Austin Townsend of Portland, Alesha and Areona Leavitt of Bangor. All of her Children, her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will miss our Mom everyday that goes by. Even though we know in our hearts we will see her again someday. In keeping with Theda’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
