Eastport – Thelma M. (Call) Lank, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Thelma was born in Eastport on January 23, 1910, daughter of the late Fred and Fannie (Wilbur) Call. She worked in a shoe factory and sardine factories. Thelma was a Sunday School teacher for many years at the former Baptist Bible Church. She resided at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home for many years where the staff became her extended family. Besides her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Frank Lank; a son, Elmer Lank; three sisters, Mary McCoy, Grace Morse and Freda Call; and a brother, Clarence Call. Surviving are her son, Norman Lank and his wife Renee; her daughter, Eleanor Pat Collins; a sister, Stella Snow; a special grandson, Stephen Collins, who was her best friend until the end of her life; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
