CALAIS – Timothy Michael Leavitt, 58, passed away December 17, 2012 at a Calais Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Timothy was born to Donald and Judith (Alward) Leavitt on July 12, 1954 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He attended school locally and graduated from Calais Memorial High School, class of 1973. He soon after began working for Georgia Pacific as a laborer, where he continued on his career and most recently worked as an environmental technician up until his illness. Tim made it into the Quarter Century Club with Georgia Pacific. He truly enjoyed life; he loved to do woodworking and spending time with his family. Tim married Patricia J. Anderson in St. Stephen, June 2, 2007. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife Patricia; mother, Judith Leavitt Perry and her husband Dale, of Robbinston; two sons, Troy Leavitt and his wife Amy and Timothy Leavitt and his wife Heather, all of Minot, North Dakota; stepson, Lee Arsenault and his companion, Sarah Dunn of St. Stephen, N.B.; four brothers, Richard Leavitt, of Topsham, Donald Leavitt and his wife Rhoda, of Baileyville, Danny Leavitt and his companion Susan Moore, of Blue Hill and Wayne Leavitt and his wife Renee, of Robbinston; six brothers-in-law, Marvin Anderson and his wife Susan, Gordon Anderson, Brian Anderson and his wife Marjorie, Talmadge Anderson and his wife Kathy, Steven Anderson, and Johnny Anderson and his wife Carla; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Fairweather and her husband Walter and Beatrice McLaughlin and her husband Leo; four grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Cassie and Kylie Leavitt; step grandson Kyle Dunn; special uncle Edward Leavitt and his wife Arlene, of Calais; many nieces and nephews and dear friends Martha and Red McIntyre of Calais. Timothy was predeceased by his father, Donald W. Leavitt. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. following visitation. Committal will be at Calais Cemetery. Friends and family are then invited to the Leavitt family home, 55 Price Street, Calais for a reception. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
