Timothy J. Newell Jr.

Timothy John Newell Jr, “TJ”, 51, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home in Perry.  TJ was born in Eastport on December 28, 1971, son of Timothy J. Newell Sr. and Mary Ursula (Stanley) Newell.

TJ graduated from Camden Community School and worked as a carpenter for many years.  He later attended Northeast Technical Institute, earning his CDL.  TJ drove truck for the logging industry but eventually returned to his calling as a carpenter.  He enjoyed listening to music, relaxing by the fire, lifting weights, and was a natural at poetry.  TJ could often be found visiting with family and friends and was known to have a nickname for everyone he met.

TJ was predeceased by his father Timothy J. Newell Sr.; sister Evelyn Newell; and two brothers, Joseph Newell and Michael Wilson.  Surviving are his mother, Mary Ursula Newell of Pleasant Point; two children, Christian Harrison of Farmington, and Darien Newell and companion Kelsi of Calais; three sisters, Molly Newell and wife Alberta of Pleasant Point, Rena Newell of Pleasant Point, and Frances Mershon and husband Greg of Los Lunas, NM; two brothers, Ryan Newell Sr. and wife Lisa of Pleasant Point, and Louis Newell and companion Tristin Phillips of Pleasant Point; special cousins Adele Moore and husband Gary of Pleasant Point; close friend Sam Neptune Jr. of Pleasant Point; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his canine companion Kane.
