Vaughn Albert Monk

Topsfield – Vaughn A. Monk, 74, died peacefully on February 21, 2016 at Calais Regional Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Born on June 29, 1941, Vaughn was the son of Lloyd and Thelma (Amero) Monk. He served his country in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965 and then was a member of the American Legion, Post 191. Vaughn enjoyed life to the fullest, some of his favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Vaughn was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, John and Barbara Rhoades; sister Yvonne Bean and her husband Dennis; brothers, Carlton and Greg Monk; sister-in-law Gail Jason and her husband Gus and his brother-in-law, Edgar Rhoades. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marion (Rhoades) Monk; brother, Lloyd Monk and his wife Joan; sister-in-law Grace Monk; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Grace Hraba, Daniel and Joyce Rhoades, Mary Rhoades and Cindy Rhoades; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including two very special nieces, Karen Binkley and Denise Severance. A graveside service will be held, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hunnewell Acres Cemetery in Topsfield with a luncheon to follow at the Topsfield Town Building.
