Vera P. Small

Vera Pauline Small, 87, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. 

Pauline loved to cook.  She was well known for her donuts and anyone who visited was always greeted with freshly made treats on the counter.  She always set aside time to make homemade goodies for Gary and Earl to take during long days on the boat.  She loved to crochet and knit and over the years supplied her family with beautiful homemade and unique afghans.  She looked forward to helping out at her daughter’s hair salon each day and socializing with all the customers.  She could be found on any given day in the company of her grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything.  She loved to cook for them and play badminton with them on nice days.  Pauline enjoyed playing the piano and taught them all little tunes throughout the years.  She was so thankful for the opportunities she had to travel across the U.S., she shared so many good memories from those days.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Vera Emery; and her loving husband Horace Small.  Pauline is survived by her children, Gary Small, Ann Small, and Earl Small and wife Samantha; her grandchildren, Catherine, Victoria, Shelby, Whitney, Jesse and Jamie; one great-grandson, Brayden; and two special friends, Louise Mitchell and Jeanette Trott.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Hillside Cemetery in Eastport.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
