Cherryfield - Victor Lee Tenan, 72, of Cherryfield, died February 16th, 2014. Victor, son of Maryanna (Willey) Tenan and Arthur Harlon Tenan, passed away at Eastern Maine Medical Center after a long battle with heart disease.
He is survived by his loving wife Judith (Riha) Tenan; two sons Glen and Brian, both of Lubec; step children David Morabito and Tanya Colella of St. Petersburg Fla.; his brother Neil and wife Ellen of Cherryfield; sister in laws, Rita, Lois, and Eileen. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Maryeva, Jessica, and Alan; great grandchildren, Jaxson and Aubrey, nieces and nephews; Rhonda, Charlene, Arthur, Laurieann, and Emily who all loved him dearly. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Maryanna and Arthur and brothers Adfer, Charlie, and Gene.
Victor was born June 6, 1941 and was a 1959 graduate of Cherryfield Academy. He spent his life becoming proficient in a variety of professions including construction, woodsman, blueberry barrens worker, mechanic, truck driver, and most recently as a security guard for Vescom.
Victor was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his wife Judy and his family. He was best known for his attentive listening skills, caring nature, vibrant sense of humor, quick wit, flirtatious smile and sparkling blue eyes. When not at work, his face could be found buried in a book, mostly romance novels as he claimed to be a lifelong learner of love!
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends as well as his loyal dog Bella.
At Victor's request, there will be no service. His ashes will be scattered at the Tenan hunting camp, his personal heaven on earth, and at Taylor Branch Stream, his favorite fishing spot where he loved to spend time with his son and brothers. Donations in Victor's memory may be made to The Ark Animal Shelter, PO Box 276, Cherryfield, ME 04622.
