Robbinston – Virginia M. Carlow, 91, passed away unexpectedly with her son Bobby and her canine companion Abby on Monday, November 14, 2011 at their home in Robbinston. Virginia was born in Deer Island, N.B. on November 20, 1919, daughter of the late Austin Cline and Elizabeth (Mingo) Morrison. She attended school in Deer Island and in Robbinston. Virginia held various jobs until relocating to Connecticut and worked for a casket manufacturer installing the interiors. While in Connecticut she married Robert Carlow in May of 1940. Virginia and Robert moved back to Robbinston and she worked for the local fish factories, woolen mill, and as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Robbinston Recreation Club for many years. Virginia enjoyed reading, crocheting, and most importantly, spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband Robert; a son William Carlow; a brother Reginald Cline; and four sisters, Ruth Moholland, Doris Carlow, Pauline Thompson and Betty Lincoln. Surviving are her two daughters, Sandra Draper-Hayward of Calais, and Sally Moir of Robbinson. Also surviving are Paul Moir of Robbinston; two grandsons, Jeffrey Draper and his wife Deborah of LaVernia, TX, and William Moir and his fiancé Judith Konecki of Freeport; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachel and Nicholas Draper; a great-great granddaughter Isley Draper; many nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends and neighbors. A graveside service for Virginia and her son Bobby will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Brewer Cemetery in Robbinston. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
