Pembroke – Virginia Mae Lingley, 86, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Down East Community Hospital in Machias. Ginny was born in Pembroke on December 16, 1925, daughter of the late Leigh and Alice (Stevens) Frost. She graduated from Pembroke High School and worked as a packer for Sunset Packing Co. until their closure. Ginny enjoyed making May baskets, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered by all for her kind heart and placing the needs of others before her own. In addition to her parents, Ginny was predeceased by her loving husband Sumner Lingley; three sisters, Dorothy, Barbara and Muriel; and three brothers, Carleton, Keith and Elliott. Surviving are her two children, Doug Frost and his wife Brenda, and Alice Cushing; her sister Lorraine Gillespie and her husband Allen; and a sister-in-law Joy Frost, all of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Jason Frost of Pembroke, Jeanette Frost of Pembroke, Travis Cushing and his wife Darlene of Eddington, Tabitha Griffin and her husband Corey of Cutler, Laurie Cates and her husband Josh of Cutler, and Nicholas Cushing and his wife Leigh of Cypress, TX; nine great-grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Matt, Jakob, Emma, Lucas, Ben, Avery and Max; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
