Princeton – Vona Adele Bailey, 70, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 18, 2015. Vona was born in Princeton on May 15, 1945, daughter of John Clark and Elsie Monk. After graduating from Princeton High School she married Leon Bailey. While raising their children, Vona worked at Nationwide Grocery Store and as a secretary for Quoddy Lumber. As her children became older she became involved in EMS and worked for Princeton Emergency Squad and as an EMS instructor. Vona was a member of the Red Hatters, Eastern Star Royal Chapter No. 145 in Princeton, and the Princeton Rod & Gun Club. She enjoyed basket weaving, reading and gardening.
In addition to her father John Clark, Vona was predeceased by her husband Leon Bailey; and a daughter Senta Dwelley. Surviving are her mother Elsie Monk of Princeton; daughter April Free and her companion Jason Corbett of Princeton; son-in-law Leigh Dwelley of Litchfield; two grandsons, Eric Free and his fiancé Aimee Shoaf of Princeton, and Jacob Dwelley of Litchfield; brother Greg Monk and wife Betty of Princeton; sister Vicki McLaughlin and husband James of Baileyville; and several nieces and nephews.
