Warren G. Doten, also known as Sonny, 82, will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his devotion to God, and love for sightseeing with his wife of 56 years, Joyce. Sonny passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 15, 2023. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Sonny’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Sonny was born on December 5th, 1941, and grew up in Baileyville. From a young age, he exhibited remarkable dedication and commitment to his work. Sonny pursued a career as a skilled boiler maker, where he poured his heart and soul into meticulously crafting and maintaining machinery. His hard work, expertise, and attention to detail earned him a reputation of excellence in his field.
Beyond his career, Sonny had a deep passion for sports, specifically baseball. During his time at Woodland High School, he showcased his exceptional talent as a catcher, earning himself a distinguished honor with the Golden Glove award. He found much joy in watching his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
While Sonny’s work and love for baseball were significant parts of his life, his greatest joy came from his role as a loving grandfather. He always had an appreciation for every moment spent together, creating precious memories that will forever be cherished.
Being considered the rock and foundation of his family, Sonny will be deeply missed. His legacy as a hardworking, loving father, and kindhearted individual will continue to inspire and guide us all. May we find solace in knowing that his spirit will forever live on.
Sonny was predeceased by his parents Warren and Madeline, daughter Teki Robinson, and granddaughter Samantha Dana.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Doten along with siblings Gloria Corbett and her husband Lloyd, Pearl Tomah, and Erland Doten. Children Ralph Doten and wife Wanda, Betty Bailey and husband John , Gidget Newell, Chyenne Doten, Tallullah Patrick and husband James, Judd Doten, Camisha Norris and Husband Josh, along with many loved nieces and nephews. Sonny had a special place in his heart for all of his grandchildren. Along with a special relationship with Heidi and Sadie Newell, and Michael Robinson. Sonny has many great grandchildren who filled his heart with joy, often spending time with Teigyn and Taijren Sapiel and Larrea, Mya, and Denali Norris.
