Calais – William F. Boardman, 80, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home. Bill was born in Calais, March 28, 1927, son of the late Glen and Helen (Hartford) Boardman. He served in WWII with the US Army. After the war, Bill attended college in Portland and Massachusetts, graduating with a Law Degree. He worked as a lawyer in Calais for nine years, then served as the Probate Judge in Machias for 22 years, retiring in 1989. Bill also retired from the Army National Guard as a Major. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the St. Croix Bowling Club. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Reynolds; and two brothers, Richard and Paul Boardman. Surviving are his loving wife of over 41 years, Pearl (Dinsmore) Boardman; a special nephew, Wayne Boardman of Calais; great niece, Samantha Boardman of Calais; great-great niece and nephew, Kevin and Ashtyn Beek; a brother-in-law, Emerson Dinsmore; and many other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 14 at Calais Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
